Delete your Gusi Budget account

In the app, in under a minute

This is the fastest route and it needs nobody's help. Open Gusi Budget, go to Settings, then Delete account. The app shows you exactly what will be removed and what will stay, and asks you to type your email address to confirm. Deletion happens immediately.

If you cannot open the app

You do not need the app, and you do not need to reinstall it. Email support@gusistudios.com from the address you signed up with, asking for your account to be deleted. We will confirm and delete it within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.

Write from the address on the account if you can. If you cannot, say so and we will find another way to establish that the account is yours before deleting anything, because deleting on the word of a stranger would be its own kind of failure.

What is deleted

• Your account and your email address.
• Your membership of any household.
• Your settings, including your appearance and currency choices.
• Your entitlement record, meaning any ad-free purchase attached to the account.
• Everything stored on your device, once you sign out or uninstall.

What is kept, and why

Expenses in a household you shared with somebody else stay with that household. They are that household's records as much as yours, and removing them would silently change another person's budget. The app tells you this before you confirm, and offers to take your own entries with you when you leave a household instead.

If you would rather those entries went too, leave the household first and choose to take your entries with you, then delete the account.

Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are fully replaced within 30 days. We may keep a minimal record of the deletion itself where we are required to, for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance.

Deleting a single expense

You do not have to delete your account to remove one expense. Deleting a single expense or a category removes it from the app straight away, and we erase it permanently 90 days later. We hold it for those 90 days so that a mistake can be undone and so a shared household's history stays consistent for everyone in it. After that it is gone automatically, without anyone having to remember.

A purchase does not survive the account

If you bought ad removal, that entitlement is attached to the account and is deleted with it. Creating a new account later does not restore it. Delete only when you mean to.
